DRWF and Diabetes Professional Care celebrate our “committed relationship”
DRWF plans to showcase our new digital resources that have been put together during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mrs Tutton said: “The pandemic has had a huge impact on us from a practical sense. In the lead-up to lockdown in late March, we had to work incredibly hard to ensure that we had all of the necessary resources and equipment in place to enable our team to work remotely. It was quite a challenge, as we were not set up to work in this way.
“But we’re a cohesive team and I think we’ve overcome the hurdles and challenges that have been thrown at us so far. Last year we invested in digital communications expertise, which was quite fortunate timing as this has enabled us to be more nimble than we might have been in moving some of our offline activities online – particularly where we are unable to hold our educational events in person. We’ve been able to create new digital support resources which will be available shortly and will be something we’ll showcase at DPC.”
She added: “We’ve dug deep and in many respects – while there’s still a long way to go – we’ve pulled it out of the bag in the past few weeks. We’ve not dropped the ball in terms of staying in touch with people who need us. We have a lot of people who rely on us for regular support. Covid-19 has impacted everyone, but for a lot of people who live alone and may be shielding it’s crucial we are always contactable.”
DPC founder Maggie Meer said: “It is vital we ensure all populations who have either type 1 or type 2 diabetes are included to ensure standards of diabetes care are improved. At DPC we work very hard to produce a programme which ensures healthcare professionals who attend the show, leave with the confidence and skills to treat each individual based on the latest guidelines and treatment options that are currently available.”
This year’s Diabetes Professional Care will be held from 11th to 12th November at Olympia London
