Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth lit up to mark 14th November celebrations in the 100th anniversary since the discovery of insulin.

The skyline of Portsmouth was lit up blue over the weekend as the Spinnaker Tower was illuminated as part of DRWF’s World Diabetes Day celebrations.

The event coincided with our United Through Diabetes online educational event launched on 14th November and which continues throughout this week.

The Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quays was lit up blue for World Diabetes Day.

This year’s World Diabetes Day on 14th November coincided with the centenary anniversary of this ground-breaking discovery. Read more about 100 years of insulin here.

We would like to say a big thank you to Luke Pearson and his team at Portsmouth City Council and the Spinnaker Tower management team, for supporting World Diabetes Day 2021.
