How you can help

Whether it's volunteering on a regular basis or just for a few hours at the weekend, all our volunteers play a crucial role in supporting our mission to help people with diabetes across the UK.

Volunteering with us is a great way to get yourself involved with our incredible team and take part in rewarding experiences. You'll also have the chance to meet likeminded people and establish new friendships!

If you're thinking about volunteering with us, we have a wide range of opportunities for you. Whether it’s helping us raise funds for the crucial research we support, or helping out at one of our wellness days, there is plenty to do!

Whether you're talking with attendees at our information stands, or helping our guest speakers around the venue, all of our volunteers play a vital role in ensuring that our events run smoothly.

Every year we host Diabetes Wellness Days across the country to support people living with all types of diabetes. For many of our volunteers, our Wellness Days provide the perfect space to share their experiences of diabetes and work alongside our team.

To learn more about our events, please visit our events schedule.

Becoming one of our fundraising volunteers is a fantastic way to get involved and help raise the essential funds we need to support our vital research programmes and help people living with diabetes across the UK.

There are lots of ways you can help out in your local community and there is always something for everyone!

Christmas Cards

Every winter we sell a selection of Christmas cards to raise funds for our research and awareness programmes. We rely on an amazing team of volunteers who help us fulfil the orders we receive by stuffing envelopes in our office.

For our volunteers who prefer a more relaxed volunteering experience, this is a perfect role which allows you to spend time with our team and contribute to our fundraising.

Raising Awareness

Volunteering with DRWF is not all about lending us a hand at our events and helping us fundraise. We also depend on our volunteers to raise awareness of diabetes and the work we do to help support people living with the condition.

Whether it's attending a local community event as a DRWF representative or introducing our free literature to your local GP surgery, all the work you do it valuable to our cause.

How We Can Help at DRWF

Each year we run events for people living with diabetes, ranging from educational workshops and wellness events, to fundraising marathons and group skydives. To find out more about our events and how we support people living with diabetes, please visit our Events Page.

Since 1998 we have provided over £12 million of funding for medical research programmes, with the aim of finding a cure for all types of diabetes. In 2004, we made a significant commitment to Islet Cell Research and Transplant, a programme which focuses on the role of islet cells in diabetes. Read more about our commitment to research by visiting our Research Page.

We rely on our amazing donors who raise the funds that help support people living with diabetes across the UK, as well as funding our vital research programmes.
